Specialty programs are educational programs that focus on specific areas of study or skill sets that cater to the interests and talents of students. These programs are often designed to provide an in-depth and more specialized education than traditional general education programs. Each S.P. is designed to give each student an opportunity to explore an area that they are interested in and cannot get through normal classes and instruction.
UIA offers a wide range programs for both primary and secondary. It is a fantastic opportunity for learning beyond the classroom. Students are able to explore a wide variety of subjects on many different topics, such as Film Making, Yoga, dance, Judo, Photography, Model UN and etc.
Some of these programs, like Sewing, build real-world skills, while others, such as other language, open doors to worlds that students might not have ever had the chance to know about.
Overall, our specialty programming allows students to study material not typically included in the academic canon, which elevates motivation and engagement naturally. Furthermore, the mixing of classes encourages socialization amongst the different grade levels, and allows our students to familiarize themselves with all of our teachers.
